Hyderabad: The league stage of the Indian Premier League is over and now the teams are moving towards the business end of the league which is playoffs. Three teams have qualified with 18 points whereas one team qualified with just 12 points. This shows that this season has been a roller coaster ride for every team.

Some players have performed exceptionally whereas some have failed to live up to the expectation and before the next season starts the team management might look to release some underperformed players.

So, Let's have a look at some of these players who can be released by the franchise.

8. Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj, the fast bowling sensation after having an exceptional year with Sunrisers Hyderabad got the maiden Indian call in 2017. But the right arm speedster has failed to live up to the expectation as he could only take 7 wickets in 9 matches that he played. He was bought by Royal Challengers Banglore at a whopping price of 2.6 crores.

7. Jaydev Unadkat

The left-arm pacer Jaudev Unadkat, who leaked runs at an economy of 11, had one of the worst IPL seasons for Rajasthan Royals. He was picked for 11.5 crores and could only manage to clinch 10 wickets in the season. The left arm pacer has failed to perform for Rajasthan for the second consecutive season.

6. Karun Nayar

Karun Nayar

The Karnataka lad, Karun Nayar did not get enough chances to prove his worth in Kings XI Punjab squad. Even after performing in the last season the right-hand batsman played only one match this season and in it he scored five runs.

5. Robbin Uthhapa

Kolkatta Knight Riders could not make it to the playoffs of IPL 2019, one of the main reasons for that was the middle order failure. Robbin Uthappa who played some really sluggish innings for KKR in do or die matches will be one of the contenders who can be released by the franchise.

4. Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf Pathan, who once held the record for the fastest century in IPL is now struggling to secure his place in the playing XI of the team. This year the right-hand batsman at an average of 14 has managed to score only 40 runs. SRH franchise will look to trade him for a better allrounder next year.

3. Rahul Tewatiya

Rahul Tewatiya

Rahul Tewatiya was given priority above Amit Mishra by Delhi Capitals in some of the matches but he was given place as an allrounder and he has certainly failed to do so. He has scored 36 runs in five matches and took 2 wickets.

2. Karan Sharma

Karan Sharma
Karan Sharma was bought by Chennai for ₹5 crores at the 2018 auction. The leg spinner has played only one game so far this season even when the Chennai home ground help spinners. It would be better for Chennai to release him and invest the money elsewhere.

1. Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj Singh has played two matches in IPL in which he managed one-half century and scored 98 runs. But after that, he was not given the chance which tells you about the mindset of the team management. The left-handed batsman was bought by Mumbai Indians for 2 crores.
