The league has also been blessed with the glittering performances by legends of the game. These players have been core to their teams' success. Over the years, these players have become household names in India.

But in the upcoming season of IPL, we could see these players playing the league for the last time leaving us with fascinating memories.

Here are the 5 players who might be calling it a day after IPL 2020.

Imran Tahir took 26 wickets in IPL 2019.

Former South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir has been one of the most successful bowlers in IPL history. He scalped 79 wickets in 55 matches. Under MS Dhoni's captaincy, he played a vital role for Chennai Super Kings.

Since the 40-year-old spinner took retirement from international cricket this could be his last season in IPL. Last season he picked up 26 wickets in 17 matches.

Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan Singh, who is currently plying his trade for Chennai Super Kings, has been playing IPL since 2008. The right-arm off-spinner led Mumbai Indians to its very first T20 title in the Champions League T20 in 2011. He has also been part of three-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians squad.

Harbhajan moved to Chennai Super Kings last season after CSK bought him in the auction at the base price of Rs 2 crore.

His lack of international exposure could mean less game time for the 39-year-old.

Amit Mishra

The 37-year-old leg-spinner has been a vital cog of Delhi Capitals. Since IPL's inception, Amit Mishra played for three franchise- Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals), Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Mishra, who has three IPL hat-trick, likely to play his last season in the cash-rich league for Delhi Capitals. At 37, he is still a key member to Delhi Capitals set-up but keeping future endeavour in mind he could bid adieu the game.

Lasith Malinga has been the most successful bowler in IPL history.

Lasith Malinga is one of the most successful bowlers in the history of IPL. He is currently the highest wicket-taker in IPL with 170 scalps in 122 matches.

The 36-year-old fast bowler could very soon quit the game and opt for coaching assignments as he is dealing with fitness issues which won't let him give his best for his side- Mumbai Indians- anymore.

Shane Watson

Shane Watson is one of the most decorated all-rounders in IPL history. He always holds the ability to change the course of a match singlehandedly.

Though he has been retained by CSK for IPL 2020, there is a very high chance that his fitness won't allow him to play as effectively as he used to.

Watson has already announced retirement from international and he could soon say goodbye to IPL too.
