IPL 13: Complete squad of the Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2020

CSK managed to retain their major core from last season who helped them finish runners-up in the 2019 edition, however, they have bought Sam Curran, Piyush Chawla and Josh Hazlewood.

Hyderabad:In the ongoing auction of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings roped in Sam Curran, Josh Hazlewood, and Piyush Chawla to further strengthen their squad who stood runners-up last season.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) headed into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction with a settled squad.

The three-time champions managed to retain their major core from last season who helped them finish runners-up in the 2019 edition.

Earlier, CSK released five players ahead of the auction including the likes of Sam Billings and David Willey.

CSK will be led by MS Dhoni once again next season despite the former Indian skipper having not turned up for India since the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup.

CSK’s first buy of the season was Sam Curran. The English all-rounder was roped in for Rs 5.5 crore. Curran played for KXIP in the previous season.

Piyush Chawla became a surprise pick as CSK spent a whopping Rs 6.75 crore for Piyush Chawla. The leg-spinner played for KKR in the previous season.

Josh Hazlewood was bought at his base price of Rs 5 crore and will now lead the CSK's pace attack.
