Edgbaston: India batting coach, Sanjay Bangar said on Sunday that MS Dhoni was 'batting beautifully' against England despite their loss in the Cricket World Cup.
Dhoni scored 42 off 31 balls and he remained unbeaten as India lost by 31 runs.
Bangar speaks on Dhoni's innings against England "I think MS (Dhoni) was striking the ball very well, he had good intent and it's just that the English bowlers stuck to the task really well, used the angles and used the large boundaries to their advantage," said Bangar.
"When they were bowling to the shorter side of the boundary, they were bowling pretty good line. So I mean I didn't find anything wrong in MS's innings. He was batting beautifully, he struck a few big blows. It's just that last four or five overs difference between runs required and balls left kept on creeping up", he added.
Bangar hinted that England used the pitch to their advantage. Cricket fields usually vary between 137 metres and 150 metres.
The batting coach said "They probably played 59 metres to one side, which is the least permissible size".
India are second in the table after seven matches at the Cricket World Cup.
