Take a look at the records which were made during the third ODI between India and Australia in Bengaluru.

Hyderabad: Team India notched up yet another ODI series win after thumping Australia by seven wickets in the third and final ODI of three-match series in Bengaluru. The win enabled Virat Kohli and co. to win the series 2-1 after going down 1-0 in the first ODI which was played in Mumbai.

After opting to bat first, Australia scored 286/9 with Steve Smith scoring 131.

Team India, riding on Rohit Sharma's century and Kohli' masterful 89, chased down the target with seven wickets in hand.

  • Rohit, who slammed his 29th career ODI century on Sunday, became the third-fastest to 9,000 career ODI runs.The hitman beat batting greats Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara to the feat.
  • The record for the fastest to 9000 ODI runs stands with India skipper Virat Kohli, who achieved the feat in just 194 innings. The second batsman in the elite list is former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers (205 innings).
  • The opener also went past Vivian Richards' tally of ODI runs (2,187) against Australia.
  • Also, Rohit is now the fourth-highest in terms of ODI tons scored and the second-fastest to 29 ODI tons (217 innings) behind Kohli (185 innings).
  • Kohli, who smashed 89 in the third ODI, became the fastest to surpass the 5,000-run mark in ODIs as captain.
  • He is the fastest to the landmark by a fair margin. His predecessor MS Dhoni got the milestone in 127 innings while Kohli has done it in just 82.
  • The Indian skipper also surpassed the 7,000-run mark while chasing in ODIs and achieved the feat in 133 innings thus surpassing Sachin Tendulkar (180 innings).
  • On the other hand, Smith, who scored 131 in the series decider, surpassed the 4,000-run mark in ODI cricket and became the 18th Australian batsman to do so.
  • He also became the joint-fourth fastest to 4,000 ODI runs for Australia as he equalled the effort of Geoff Marsh, who achieved the feat in 106 innings. David Warner (93), Dean Jones (102) and Finch (105) have a better tally.
  • Indian pacer Mohammed Shami on Sunday registered his best bowling figures against Australia. The 29-year-old bagged 4 wickets while giving away 63 runs in his allotted 10 overs.
  • Since January 2019, Shami has claimed 19 wickets in death overs in ODIs, which is the second-best tally after Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman (22).
  • Team India hasn't lost a single series across formats after their 2019 World Cup exit. The ODI series win against Australia helped Kohli and co. keep their record intact.
