Florida: India speedster Navdeep Saini had a dream start to international cricket against West Indies in the first T20I of Men in Blue's tour to the Carribean on Saturday. The right-arm pacer while clinching three wickets on debut entre the record books as he became the second bowler to record a wicket-maiden in the 20th over of a T20 international match.
Before Saini, Singapore's Janak Prakash managed a wicket-maiden in the 20th over of a T20 international match on debut.Janak Prakash had achieved the feat in the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Region Final against Qatar last month.Saini in his very first overtook two back to back wickets of West Indian batsmen Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer, but he missed to clinch the hat-trick, who came into the attack in the 5th over, picked up the wickets of Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer.
The speedster returned for his second spell in the 20th over and picked the wicket of dangerous Kieron Pollard. Not just that but he didn't let the West Indian batsmen score a single run in the final over. He finished his spell with 3 wickets for 17 from 4 overs.Earlier, Saini, who can clock 150 kmph, was the second-highest wicket-taker in the five-match unofficial ODI series for India A in the West Indies where he bagged nine wickets. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2019 IPL season, he had also impressed with his pace clocking 152.85 kmph beside picking 11 wickets from 13 games.
