Ranchi: Australia beat India by 32 runs in the third ODI at JSCA International Stadium Complex here. Defending the target of 314 runs, the visitors bowled out India for 281 in 48.2 overs to remain alive in the five-match series after losing the opening two games.
India were off to a poor start while chasing the mammoth total as they lost three quick wickets in the form of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Rayadu.
However, MS Dhoni, who was playing at his home, provide stability in the middle but failed to remain on the crease for long as he was sent back to pavilion for 26.
Meanwhile, India skipper Virat Kohli smashed his 41st ODI century to give some hopes to the hosts, but the lower middle order batsmen failed to capitalise on Kohli's ton and gave away their wickets cheaply.
