Potchefstroom:Underdogs of the tournament Bangladesh stormed into their maiden ICC U-19 World Cup final with a comprehensive six-wicket win over New Zealand and now they will take on the mighty Indians in the final of the event for the title.
The final of the ICC U-19 WC will be played on Sunday at the Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. Going into the match Priyam Garg-led Team India are favourites as they have dominated their counterparts in the tournament.
India and Bangladesh have faced each other 23 times, with the Boys in Blue emerging victorious on 18 occasions. The Tigers have won just three games against the much-fancied India while two matches were washed out. Both the teams have faced each other four times in World Cup with India emerging victorious on three occasions.
India reached the final of the marquee event with ten wickets win over bitter rival Pakistan in the semifinals of the tournament, Bangladesh qualified for the final after win over New Zealand.
It is also notable that the Team India have reached the final of the ICC U 19 World Cup seven times, while it is Bangladesh's maiden appearance.
Both India and Bangladesh are unbeaten in the ongoing U 19 World Cup, which is being played in South Africa.
