A petition signed by nearly 150 secretaries of various HCA clubs was handed over to the CoA members Justice (retd) Anil R Dave and Justice (retd) G V Seethapathy at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, here.
After holding the meeting with secretaries, former Test off-spinner and HCA president Arshad Ayub said, “HCA is one of the few associations in the country to fully implement the Justice (retd) RM Lodha Committee recommendations. Since HCA has fully complied with the recommendations, the CoA should obtain permission from the Supreme Court and hold elections for the HCA as early as possible."
“With the new season set to commence in June next, a decision with regard to the appointment of selectors and various committees for the smooth conduct of the various tournaments should be done by the HCA. In view of this, we have requested the CoA members to call for elections. The CoA members responded positively to our request,” he added.
