Fit India Dialogue 2020: PM Modi asks Virat Kohli if he gets tired

Responding to PM's question, Kohli said, "Everyone feels tired but if your lifestyle is good and you work out everyday, the recovery improves. It all depends on the lifestyle of a person."

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday interacted with fitness influencers and citizens to mark the one-year anniversary of Fit India Movement.

The likes of Virat Kohli, Milind Soman, Rujuta Diwekar, Swami Shivadhyanam Saraswati, Mukul Kanitkar, Devendra Jhajharia, Afshan Ashiq shared their views with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the interaction, Modi also shared the secret behind his fitness. He even asked Indian skipper Virat Kohli, if he ever gets tired.

Responding to PM's question, Kohli said, "Everyone feels tired but if your lifestyle is good and you work out everyday, the recovery improves. It all depends on the lifestyle of a person."

Sharing his secret mantra, Kohli said, "Your intentions need to be right. Accordingly, your results will be fine".

The 31-year-old cricketer, who is currently leading Royal Challengers Banglore in the 13th edition of Indian Premier League, further stated that he had to bring about a change in his physical fitness & diet. Kohli said that it was essential to do so strike a fine balance between mental and physical health.

When asked about the importance of the yo-yo test, the batting maestro explained how the fitness test is conducted and its requirement.

"It is a very important test in terms of fitness. Our fitness levels are still low in comparison to other teams globally. I am the first one to give the Yo-Yo test. If I fail, even I would be unavailable for selection. In Test matches, now the players can put in the required effort on the field even on 4th and 5th days. We always had the skill but didn't have such fitness levels before," Kohli said.

PM Modi also wished Virat Kohli's actor turned producer wife Anushka Sharma good health. Last month, the couple announced that they are pregnant with their first child.

Modi also thanked Virat Kohli for taking time out from his busy IPL schedule to talk to the nation.
