Hyderabad:One of India's most hailed captains Sourav Ganguly is set to assume office as the 39th president of the BCCI on Wednesday, October 23 at its Annual General Meeting (AGM, bringing an end to the 33-month reign of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA).

On being asked about the expectations of the people on him being elected as the BCCI President, Ganguly said that he will try his level best to live up to his name. He further mentioned that he would delve upon all aspects after assuming office which includes both first-class cricket and international cricket.
Ganguly further said that he is scheduled to meet the selectors on October 24th to pick the T20 squad for the Bangladesh series. On being asked about Dhoni, he said that he needs to speak of the issue with selectors first.
Ganguly also thanked Mamata Banerjee who wished him success on being elected as the BCCI president. He further claimed that Mamata is a great person and he personally considers the current West Bengal CM as his own didi.
