Ashwin likely to play in Delhi Capitals' next game

Dubai: Premier Delhi Capitals' spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who suffered an injury during the match against Kings XI Punjab, has hinted that he might play the next match. Ashwin said that the pain had "settled down" and the scan reports were "pretty encouraging".

"I was in pain as I left the field last night, but the pain has settled down and the scan reports are pretty encouraging too. Thanks for all your love and support," Ashwin said on his official Twitter handle.

After the match, which Delhi Capitals won in the Super Over, captain Shreyas Iyer had said that the spinner had said that he would be ready for the DC's next game.

Ricky Ponting, head coach of DC, also said on Monday that he hoped Ashwin remained fit to play against Chennai Super Kings in Delhi's next outing on Friday.
