Indian shuttlers Parupalli Kashyap and Mugdha Agrey have qualified for the main draw of the men and women singles event at the Singapore Open badminton tournament.
Kashyap, who is also a 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games gold medallist, qualified in the main draw of the tournament after defeating Japan's Yu Igarashi 15-21 21-16 22-20 in the final round of the qualification.
Kashyap, who recently tied the knot with Olympics bronze medallist and former world number one Saina Nehwal, thrashed Malaysia's June Wei Cheam 21-5 14-21 21-17 in his first qualification round.
The 32-year-old will next take on Denmark's Rasmus Gemke in the first round of the men singles event on Wednesday.
Other than Kashyap, young shuttler Mugdha Agrey have also qualified for the main draw of the women's singles event. Mugdha come-from-behind 16-21 21-14 21-15 to defeat Lauren Lam of the USA in the qualification round. She will face Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong in her opening round encounter on Wednesday.
