Hyderabad: Actor Manoj Bajpayee has opened up on his upcoming web series The Family Man 2 stirring controversy for allegedly portraying Tamils as vicious and the Liberation Tiger for Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as terrorists.
The Family Man Season 2 landed in some serious trouble after the Tamil Nadu government reportedly requested the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to either stop or ban the release of the series for allegedly depicting the Eelam Tamils in a negative light.
Manoj, who headlines the show, in his latest virtual interview with a webloid has said that the leaders of their team have taken utmost care and have done everything possible to show their respect for the Tamil culture and sensibilities.
Reacting to the furore, the National Award-winning actor has said, "Humare team mein jo main leaders hai, jo lead kar rahe hai iss show ko, khaas kar ke season two ko, yeh zyadatar Tamilians hai (The ones leading our show, especially the second season, are primarily Tamilians). Raj and DK, Samantha (Akkineni), Priyamani, Suman (Kumar), who is the writer… Who can be a better person than these guys to safeguard the interests of Tamil people, friends and viewers? I don't think anybody can be better than them. They are the people who have been leading this show, they have created this show and they have done everything possible to show their respect for the Tamil culture and sensibilities."
