Pavitra Rishta 2 in the offing, Ankita Lokhande to reprise her role as Archana

Popular television show Pavitra Rishta is all set to return to the small screens with second season. Ankita Lokhande, who played the leading lady in the show is being roped in to reprise her role as Archana Deshmukh.

Hyderabad: Ekta Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta made Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande household names when it launched in 2009. The makers pulled the plug on Pavitra Rishta in 2014 and after nearly seven years, the show is set to return with the second season.

Ekta succeeded in establishing a strong bond with viewers as Pavitra Rishta was very much loved for the effortless chemistry of the leading pair, Sushant and Ankita. Though the show went off air years ago Pavitra Rishta still enjoys a loyal fan base. Relying upon the Pavitra Rishta ardent admirers and in the hope to bring in a new generation of fans, the makers are planning to return with the second season of Pavitra Rishta.

While Ankita is being roped in to reprise her role as Archana Deshmukh the fans will miss Sushant who played Manav Deshmukh in the show. When SSR shifted his focus to Bollywood, Hiten Tejwani was brought in as his replacement. According to reports, the show is in pre-production stage and makers will be bringing a fresh face to fill in Sushant’s shoes rather than a known actor keeping in mind the sentimental value of the show and his character Manav.
