Miss Universe Q & A round: Miss India Adline Castelino's COVID related answer is winning internet

Florida: Mangalore-based model Adline Castelino, who was selected to represent India at Miss Universe pageant 2020, has secured fourth place in the competition where beauty queens from 74 countries were aiming for the coveted crown.

During the final Question and Answer round, Adline was asked a tough question for which she gave a powerful yet sensitive answer. While the entire world is grappling with pandemic the judges couldn't refrain from keeping COVID-19 away from the Q & A round. and asked Adline, "Should countries lockdown due to COVID-19 despite the strain on their economies, or should they open their borders and risk a potential increase in infection rates?"

To which Castelino answered, "Good evening universe. Well, coming from India and witnessing what India is experiencing right now, I have realized something very important that nothing is more important than the health of your loved ones. And you have to draw a balance between economy and health. And that can only be done when the government works with the people hand in hand and produces something that will work with the economy. Thank you."

Netizens are lauding Aline's wisdom on Miss Universe Twitter handle where the video of her Q & A round is shared. "Miss India give the first blow," wrote one user while another commented, "Loved her answer! I hope she wins!" The video has garnered nearly 10K likes on the micro-blogging site while comments continue to pour in.

Meanwhile, Andrea Meza of Mexico was crowned the new Miss Universe after the pageant was delayed over a year by the coronavirus pandemic. Meza who has a software engineering degree, beat out 73 other delegates including Miss Brazil at the end of the night, screaming excitedly when the announcer shouted "Viva Mexico!"
