Mumbai: Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks is all set to be honoured with Cecil B DeMille at the Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2020.
The Hollywood Foreign Foreign Press Association (HFPA) on Tuesday announced that Hanks will be bestowed with the prestigious honour at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
HFPA President Lorenzo Soria said: "The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is proud to bestow the 2020 Cecil B. DeMille Award to Tom Hanks."
Seeking eight out of 15 nominations, the 63-year-old actor has had a remarkable Golden Globes moment.
Speaking about the next Cecil B DeMille recipient, Soria said: "For more than three decades, he's captivated audiences with rich and playful characters that we've grown to love and admire."
He further added: "As compelling as he is on the silver screen, he's equally so behind the camera as a writer, producer and director. We're honoured to include Mr. Hanks with such luminaries as Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, and Barbra Streisand to name a few."

Earlier the honour had been bestowed upon Jeff Bridges, Robert De Niro, Audrey Hepburn, Harrison Ford, Jodie Foster, Sophia Loren, Sidney Poitier, Steven Spielberg, Denzel Washington and Robin Williams among others.
Hanks who made his debut with He Knows You're Alone in 1979, is widely known for films including Sleepless in Seattle, The Da Vinci Code, Saving Private Ryan and the Toy Story franchise.
In 1994, Hanks won his first Oscar for Philadelphia. The actor won his second Oscar for Forrest Gump the following year.
Meanwhile, the Splash actor will next be seen in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.
