Los Angeles: Taylor Swift has been named the world's best selling artist of 2019, by IFPI, the organization which represents the record music industry globally.
Swift released her seventh studio album, Lover, in August, chalking up three million sales worldwide within a week. The album, which debuted at number one in more than 10 countries, included three 2019 singles - ME! featuring Brendon Urie, You Need to Calm down and title track Lover.
Swift becomes the recipient of the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award for the second time - having earned the distinction in 2014.
Ed Sheeran takes second place in the organization's top 10, with the success of his album No 6 Collaborations Project; while Post Malone is third, following sales of his single Sunflower and album Hollywood's Bleeding.
