Los Angeles: Sophie Turner says there's no need to label sexuality. The 23-year-old British actress generated discussion online after saying in a recent Rolling Stone interview that "I love a soul, not a gender."
Appearing at WonderCon in Anaheim, California on March 29 to promote her lead role in the X-Men movie 'Dark Phoenix', Turner said she didn't see the need for labels like heterosexual and homosexual.
Sophie Turner doesn't want to label sexuality "Right, I feel like no one really should feel the need to define themselves. I believe you do love a soul and not a gender. And if that soul happens to always be in a male body, then I guess you like men. But I love who I love. And that's OK," Turner told The Associated Press in an interview.
The 'Game of Thrones' star, who is engaged to actor and singer Joe Jonas, said she hadn't expected her comment to strike a nerve.
"It seems so mundane to me because that's me. But for other people, I guess it's a big deal," she said.
