Washington: Singer Katy Perry who recently celebrated her 35th birthday by flying 64 of her closest friends to Egypt.
The singer, who turned a year older on October 25, marked the occasion with a fun-filled 10-day cruise down the River Nile, riding camels through the desert and enjoying the sunset over the pyramids, all of which was captured in a slew of social media photos.
Standing in front of the Pyramid of Ghiza, Perry captioned the photos: "Ancient Egyptians believed that when you pass on your heart had to be weighed. It had to be lighter than a feather to be qualified for the trip to the afterlife."
She further added: "My mother has called me feather since I was a little girl and I hope after all is said and done my heart is as light as one. This is 35."
Among the guests was her fiance Orlando Bloom who took to Instagram to share several photos from the outing.
