Los Angeles: Hollywood star Chris Pratt's The Tomorrow War imagines a military draft with a sci-fi twist. Pratt plays a father who is sent to fight a war against aliens 30 years in the future. The Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy star also executive produced the film.
"It's pretty scary to think of a draft. And what we did that's a little different in this film is this draft is happening because the sci-fi element of it, in the rules of time travel, you can't be alive in the era that you're going to. And the people who come back to train us can't be alive in the era that they're going to, say it's a 30-year difference. So, everyone training us is under 30 and everyone going on the draft is over 30," said Pratt. "It kind of goes against what you'd expect with every war movie. These are people who are not equipped to fight. They're not in the peak physical fitness of their life or in the prime of their physical life. And so, we had to have a little fun with that."
The 41-year-old actor says the movie –which imagines a post-apocalyptic world overrun by hungry monsters—could serve as a reminder to audiences to be grateful for their lives.
