The top female artist title was presented to '7 rings' singer Ariana Grande, who won it for the first time. Another debut win came for the Korean group 'BTS' who won top group award.
The icon award was taken home by Mariah Carey.

The 2019 Billboard Music Awards hosted by American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson turned out to be a day marked in history for Canadian rapper-singer Drake as he outnumbered Taylor Swift's 23 Billboard Music awards with his 27 wins.
