Los Angeles: The 19th BET Awards were kickstarted by rapper Cardi B and Offset with their explosive performances on Sunday.
Cardi B set the stage on fire performing on her new single 'Press' while her husband and rapper Offset started the performance Sunday.
Cardi also performed with hubby on 'Clout' rapping on top of Offset while he sat on chair.
Lizzo also had a fiery performance with "Truth Hurts," which featured her playing the flute while twerking.
The 'Girls' hitmaker also won album of the year for her major-label debut, "Invasion of Privacy," which won the Grammy for best rap album earlier this year.
Mary J. Blige was honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by Rihanna. Blige praised God, thanked her mother and spoke about a healed relationship with her father after accepting the honour.
Rihanna showered praises on Blige calling her the "queen of hip-hop and R&B." She also applauded her for being the first person to compete for both acting and songwriting award in the same year.
