Mumbai:Taapsee Pannu and South actor Lakshmi Manchu have spoken out against the alleged media trial of actor Rhea Chakraborty, accused of abetment to suicide in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
After Lakshmi tweeted in support of Rhea and urged her colleagues to stand for the Jalebi actor, Taapsee asked people to not overtake judiciary to "convict someone who isn’t proven guilty".
Sharing Lakshmi Manchu's tweet, Taapsee Pannu wrote, "I didn’t know Sushant on a personal level nor do I know Rhea but what I know is, it only takes to be a human to understand how wrong it is to overtake judiciary to convict someone who isn’t proven guilty. Trust the law of the land for your sanity and the deceased’s sanctity (sic)."

Meanwhile, earlier actor Swara Bhasker and filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma too tweeted in support of Rhea.
"I don’t think even #Kasab was subjected to the kind of witch-hunt on media.. & media trial that #RheaChakrobarty is being subjected to! Shame on Indian Media.. Shame on us for being a toxic voyueristic public consuming this poisonous hysteria.. #RheaDrugChat #SushantSinghRajput," wrote Swara Bhasker.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, "This interview is the best thing @Tweet2Rhea did and should continue to do non stop... Only way to check the lies of fake media is by putting out the truth in the same speed as them Nothing is more dangerous than silence in today’s times #JusticeForRhea."
The Kedarnath starrer was found hanging at his Mumbai home on June 14. While earlier, Mumbai Police was investigating the case, it is now being probed by the CBI.
An FIR has been filed against Rhea Chakraborty, her family, Shruti Modi and Samuel Miranda at Patna's Rajiv Nagar Police Station on the basis of Sushant's father KK SIngh's complaint. The family claims that Rhea Chakraborty is responsible for Sushant's death. In a recent video, Sushant's father alleged that Rhea poisoned his son.
