Mumbai: Music director Wajid Khan of composer duo Sajid-Wajid took his last breathe on Monday at the age of 42. Reportedly, his mother Razina Khan has been tested positive for COVID-19.
Razina is undergoing treatment at Surana Sethia hospital in Mumbai, where Wajid was treated for kidney-related issues. Sources said that Wajid's mother had already contracted with COVID-19 before the composer.
Wajid's mother is recovering and she had got infected with the virus as she came in contact with the COVID-19 patients of the hospital.
The news of popular music composer-singer-director's death came as a huge shock to the entire film industry. The musician was suffering from heart and kidney problems and was diagnosed with COVID-19.
The Mashallah crooner was buried at the Versova cemetery in Mumbai. Wajid's brother Sajid Khan was seen attending the funeral.

The news of Wajid's death was released by music composer Salim Merchant on social media. He had tweeted, "Devastated with the news of the passing away of my brother Wajid of Sajid-Wajid fame. May Allah give strength to the family. Safe travels bro @wajidkhan7. You’ve gone too soon. It’s a huge loss to our fraternity. I’m shocked & broken. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (sic)."
Stars including Priyanka Chopra, Amitabh Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Neha Dhupia and many others tweeted about the demise of the music director.
