Vikram Batra biopic 'Shershaah' starring Sid, Kiara goes on floors

'Shershaah' featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani went on floors in Mumbai. The makers took to social media to share mahurat pictures of the film which is a biopic on Kargil war hero Vikram Batra.

Mumbai: Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani kickstarted shooting for their upcoming film 'Shershaah' which is a biopic on Kargil war hero Vikram Batra.

'Shershaah' went on floors in Mumbai earlier today. The first day of shoot commenced in the presence of Lt. Gen Y.K. Joshi (then Lt. Col) and Commanding Officer of 13 JAK Rifles during Kargil War 1999 and Vishal Batra, brother of Vikram Batra.

The makers took to social media to share pictures of mahurat form film's set.

Sidharth, who will be headlining the first-ever biopic in his career had said that he is looking forward to playing Captain Batra on screen.

"Excited to play Vikram Batra, a real-life hero on screen! Titled - #Shershaah! Shooting begins soon," the actor earlier posted on the microblogging site.

Kiara, who was speculated to feature in the biopic, officially boarded the cast, saying she is "excited and thrilled" to be a part of the film.

Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, 'Shershaah' is co-produced by Karan Johar, Hiroo Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Himanshu Gandhi.
