Hyderabad: Telugu heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda's Hindi debut Liger is among the hotly anticipated multilingual films which have attracted huge chatter around right from the word go. While Vijay and the makers of the film are confident of delivering something unexpected, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's tweets added oodles of excitement to the anticipation of already much-awaited film.
On Monday, RGV took to Twitter and shared his opinion about the film as he has already seen the rushes of Liger. The Satya helmer also claimed that leading man Vijay's screen presence in the film is beyond that of any big star in the industry.
Heaping praise on the team Liger, RGV wrote, "Saw scenes of @KaranJohar presented #PuriJagan directed and @Charmmeofficial produced LIGER ..More than a CROSS between TIGER and LION @TheDeverakonda looks like a SUPER CROSS between @pawankalyan @urstrulyMahesh @RaviTeja_offl and @iTIGERSHROFF."
RGV also thanked Liger makers for bringing out the best in Vijay who will be making a splash in Hindi cinema with the film. "The SCREEN PRESENCE of @TheDeverakonda in LIGER Is GREATER than any STAR i have seen in the last 2 DECADES..Thank you #PuriJagan and @Charmmeofficial for bringing it out," RGV's tweet reads.

Vijay will be seen playing a boxer in the film which also stars Ananya Panday in the lead role. The film is set to release in five languages -- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The makers were all set to release Liger teaser on May 9 to mark Vijay's birthday. The teaser release, however, got postponed due to the raging second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic across the country. Back then, the makers had shared that Liger teaser will be out "at a better time" and assured the fans that they will "witness Vijay Deverakonda in a never seen before avatar and you will not be disappointed."
If RGV's tweets are anything to go by then what Liger makers have promised is apparently not just another claim by filmmakers before the release of their films to woo the audience.
Last month, several reports claimed that the makers of Liger have considered the offer to release the movie on the OTT platform. However, denying the rumours, Vijay replied to the report in the most savage way and tweeted, "Too little. I'll do more in the theatres." The film was earlier scheduled to hit big screens on September 9 but the makers will apparently announce a new release date as the team is yet to wrap shooting of the film which got hampered due to pandemic.
