Vidya's first look from Shakuntala Devi is out, filming begins today

The teaser of the film promises to dig into the roots of the human-computer.

Mumbai: The team of the upcoming movie Shakuntala Devi starring Vidya Balan has kick-started its journey on Monday.

The makers of the movie have also dropped in a brand new teaser along with the first look poster of the film.

Helmed by Anu Menon the film is based on the life of Indian human-computer Shakuntala Devi.

In the first look poster of the film, Vidya Balan looks like the mirror image of the ace personality, striking a pose in a bright red sari with a floral border with short-cropped hair and a round bindi.

In a ranking position, she is seen standing tall in the first place while computer and calculator are placed in second and third position.

The Mission Mangal actress took to her social media on Monday to share the news related to her forthcoming film with her fans and followers.

Sharing the teaser of the film, the actress wrote on Twitter: "She was extraordinary, in every sense of the word! Know the story of the child prodigy & the human computer, #ShakuntalaDevi."

The video defined several shades of her character such as sharp, eccentric, witty, and outspoken.

The filming for the movie base on the Indian mathematician has begun today.

Alongside the first look poster of the film, the Begum Jaan actress wrote: "Excitement is multiplying each day! Time to dig into the 'root' of the mathematical genius, #ShakuntalaDevi. #FilmingBegins."

Produced by Abundantia Entertainment led by Vikram Malhotra, the motion picture is set for a summer 2020 release.

Penned by Menon and Nayanika Mahtani, the dialogues are written by Ishita Moitra.
