Hyderabad: The remake of 1975 release comic caper Chupke Chupke is getting remade by filmmaker Luv Ranjan. While Rajkummar Rao will be reprising the role of Dharmendra in the film, Nation Award-winning actor Vicky Kaushal is rumoured to be approached to the part essayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the film.

The Raazi actor has been tapped to play the role of Sukumar Sinha, a professor of English literature, which was nailed by Big B in his frequent collaborator Mukherjee's film. According to reports, the Masaan actor is yet to give his nod but speculations are rife about him coming on board as the makers are keen to explore what versatile actors like Rajkummar and Vicky can bring to the table.

Earlier, reports suggested that Raj will be reuniting with his Bareilly Ki Barfi co-star Ayushmann Khurrana for the film but those were mere speculations. As of now, the Aligarh actor is busy wrapping up Dinesh Vijan's Hum Do Humare Do after which he has Badhai Do with Bhumi Pednekar and Hindi remake of the Telugu cop thriller HIT to go on floors. While he has a tight schedule to follow, the makers of Chupke Chukpe remake are planning to steal dates in between the shoots of his ongoing projects.
Makers keen to bring Vicky Kaushal, Rajkummar Rao together in Chupke Chupke remake. Meanwhile, Vicky will next be seen in Shoojit Sircar's Sardar Udham Singh, where he plays the titular revolutionary. He will also be seen sharing screen space with former beauty queen Manushi Chhillar in an untitled project.
Luv Ranjan will be co-producing the Chupke Chupker remake with Bhushan Kumar and while the casting for male leads is almost locked, who will be reprising the role of Sharmila Tagore and Jaya Bachchan in the remake is yet to be known.
