The Immortal Ashwatthama: Here's when Vicky and Sara starrer will go on floors

Aditya Dhar is all set to take The Immortal Aswatthama featuring Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan on floors. The team is awaiting COVID-19 induced restrictions to be eased out to commence film's shooting and if reports are anything to go by, the makers are aiming for September to begin the shoot.

Hyderabad: Actor Vicky Kaushal and his Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar are reuniting for The Immortal Ashwatthama is known. The film would have been on floors had there been no restrictions due to the COVID-19 second wave. The makers, however, are all equipped to commence shooting as and when the lockdown is lifted.

The entertainment industry, like any other, is facing a tough time economically due to the current global pandemic, and the team of The Immortal Ashwatthama too had to redesign their plan. While lead actors Sara and Vicky have been prepping for their roles, the team is busy planning for a five-month-long first schedule which is said to kickstart from September.

Talking about The Immortal Ashwatthama being mounted on a lavish scale, film's director Aditya has earlier said everyone will have to redesign the business side of storytelling.

"Firstly every story has its correct budget and Ashwatthama is a big canvas film. Now, one has to understand the mathematics of our business. In India we cannot make a film of Rs 500 crore and expect fast recovery. We made Uri for Rs 28 CR and it looked like a film with a budget of around Rs 60 crore. So basically we are a team of people who can offer you a grand-looking film within a small budget," the National Award-winning filmmaker had said.

If everything falls in place, The Immortal Ashwatthama will be ready for a 2023 release.
