Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior trailer hails Maratha pride

Since last month, Ajay Devgn has kept fans on their toes by sharing posters and character looks of him and co-stars Kajol and Saif Ali Khan at frequent intervals. And now, the hotly awaited trailer of the film is out and it hints at a balanced amalgamation of good performances, story and direction to say the least.

Mumbai: The trailer of Ajay Devgn's much-anticipated film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior hails Maratha pride and heroic figure Subhedar Tanaji Malusare.

The film is an Indian biographical period drama based on the life of legendary Tanaji Malusare, starring Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Jagapathi Babu, Pankaj Tripathi and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles.

Billed as "The surgical strike that shook the Mughal Empire!", the period drama is a grand canvas for intense intense actors like Ajay and Saif who to in the past charmed the audience with their performances in Omkara.

Ajay will be seen playing the unsung warrior of the Indian history who fought alongside Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj as is seen. While Saif is playing antagonist Uday Bhan, a Rajput official working for Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

The film also marks Ajay's on-screen reunion with wife Kajol who stars as Savitribai Malusare in the upcoming feature.

Set in the 17th century, the Om Raut directorial is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, an unsung warrior of Indian history and the military leader in the army of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire.

Produced by Ajay Devgn's ADF and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series, the film will release on January 10, 2020.
