Mumbai: Actor Kangana Ranaut, who has been surrounded by controversies after her war with Shiv Sena, has now retorted to veteran actor Jaya Bachchan's comment on how few people are projecting film industry in a bad light which gave them the very identity.
Amid a raging controversy over drug use in the film industry in connection with a probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Bachchan on Tuesday slammed all those who have been calling the Mumbai-based entertainment industry a "gutter".
She demanded the government to provide protection and put a ban on the unending bashing being faced by members of the film industry.

Reacting to Jaya's concerns, Kangana took to Twitter and asked the actor-turned-politician to show some compassion for those who are not from the industry.
"Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhishek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also," wrote the Padma Shri recipient on her Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, the veteran actor, who is married to Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is also upset over comments on social media and the media.
The recent barbs between the film fraternity have sharpened since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, and Kangana's continued vitriolic verbal attacks on her colleagues in the industry.
