Mumbai: Shatrughan Sinha has pitched in to support his daughter Sonakshi Sinha who is still being haunted by her 'Ramayana'-Goof up on Kaun Banega Crorepati 11.
After massively trolled on social media in September last year, the Dabangg star recently was attacked by Mukesh Khanna for her inadequate knowledge of the epic.
While expressing his joy over the return of mythology sagas Ramayan and Mahabharat during the lockdown, Khanna also took a sly dig at Sonakshi. Citing her example, Mukesh said the historic comeback of over three-decade-old shows will make many acquainted with mythology.

While Sonakshi has remained tight-lipped over the controversy, her father has apparently decided to speak on her behalf.
Hitting back at Mukesh, the protective father told a tabloid, "I believe someone has a problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?"
The Kalicharan star said that Sonakshi is s a daughter any father would be proud to have and doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone.

"I am very proud of my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone," Shatrughan said.
For unversed, last September, a video of Sonakshi did rounds of the Internet where she was seen on KBC's hotseat with Rajasthani artisan Ruma Devi, facing show host Amitabh Bachchan asking her: "According to Ramayana, Hanuman fetched the Sanjeevani herb for whom?" Sonakshi was visibly confused and used a lifeline.
Back then, the Lootera star had to face the wrath of social media for not knowing the story of Ramayana. She however, hit back at netizens saying she does not remember many other things and if trollers have no work, they can make memes on them too.
