Shahid Kapoor's Jersey kickstarts its shoot in Chandigarh

The Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Jersey featuring Shahid Kapoor has rolled on floors. The shooting of the film has begun in Chandigarh.

Mumbai: The team of upcoming sports flick titled Jersey starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead has kickstarted its shoot in Chandigarh.
Helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Jersey is a Hindi-remake of a Telugu film that goes by the same name.

Hopping on to social media, film's lead actor Shahid Kapoor shared the news related to his upcoming film with his fans and followers.

Sharing a picture of the clapperboard from the sets of Jersey, the actor wrote on Instagram: "It's never too late to chase your dream. #Jersey... The journey begins."

After Vikas Bahl's Shaandaar, father and actor Pankaj Kapur will be seen sharing the screen space with his son Shahid Kapoor in the film.

The Kabir Singh actor will be essaying the role of a cricketer. While the veteran actor Pankaj Kapur will reportedly play his mentor in the movie.

The Telugu version of Jersey received an overwhelming response from the audience and critics alike.

Film Jersey revolves around a father named Arjun who is a talented but failed cricketer. He decides to return to cricket in his late thirties because of his desire to represent the Indian cricket team and fulfil his son's wish of an Indian jersey as a gift. How he makes it big despite being limited by his age forms the essence of the story.

Besides Shahid and Pankaj, the film also stars the Batla House fame actress Mrunal Thakur.

The forthcoming sports drama is scheduled to hit the big screen on August 28, 2020.
