Shahid to take a breather before shooting new film post-Jersey

Actor Shahid Kapoor has recently wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film Jersey. The actor took to social media to reveal that he will be taking a breather before diving into a new project.

Hyderabad: Actor Shahid Kapoor has announced that he will be taking a short break before getting into the skin of a new character. Braving the scare of COVID-19, Shahid recently shot for 47 days to complete the film.

Shahid took to Instagram to share a monochromatic mirror selfie and wrote, "Another journey comes to an end. Before I need to become someone else again. A few days of myself ness ...."

Talking about shooting the film during the pandemic, Shahid had said "Jersey is a story that speaks of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. The triumph of an indomitable spirit. If there was ever a time I could connect with the underlying spirit of a film this was it."

Jersey is a story about a talented but failed cricketer named Arjun, who decides to make a comeback in his late thirties and play for India, in order to fulfil his son's wish. The sports drama is a Hindi remake of a Telugu hit of the same name. The Hindi version is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who had also helmed the 2019 original.

Earlier this year, Shahid had revealed that he will be seen in an action film after Jersey. The actor has reportedly given the nod to Shashank Khaitan's action film titled Yoddha which will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production.
