Sanjana Galrani sent to judicial custody for 2 days in drug case

Bangalore:Kannada actress Sanjana Galrani is sent to judicial custody for two days on Wednesday in connection with the Sandalwood drugs case which has cropped up recently.

She will be sent to the Parappana Agrahara jail in Bangalore.

Along with her accused, Viren Khanna and Ravishankar will also be sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru which is probing the drug menace in the Kannada film industry had conducted a raid at her residence on Tuesday morning.

She was taken to K.C.General Hospital for Medical Examination and according to sources, Investigation Officer decided to take Sanjana into custody again to continue the investigation as she had divulged many pieces of information regarding the scandal.

Earlier, a team of seven CCB sleuths, including a woman police inspector, raided actor Ragini Dwivedi's flat at Yelahanka in the city's northern suburb with a search warrant from a local court to find out if banned drugs were kept in her house.

Currently, she is under police custody. She was arrested under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

In connection to the high profile drug case, six people have been arrested including Dwivedi while the hunt is on for seven others who have been named in the twin FIRs.
