Sandalwood Drug Case: CCB raids actor Sanjana Galrani's house

Days after the arrest of Kannada actor Ragini Dwivedi, a team of CCB sleuths raided the house of another actor Sanjana Galrani in connection to the drug peddling case.

Bengaluru:The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru which is probing the drug menace in Kannada film industry has conducted a raid at the residence of actor Sanjana Galrani here on Tuesday morning.

According to the police sources, a team of CCB sleuths reached Sanjana's residence in Indiranagar at about 6 am. The CCB has arrested Sanjana's aide Rahul and actor Ragini Dwivedi's friend Ravi Shankar in connection with the case.

Earlier, a team of seven CCB sleuths, including a woman police inspector, raided actor Ragini Dwivedi's flat at Yelahanka in the city's northern suburb with a search warrant from a local court to find out if banned drugs were kept in her house.

Currently, she is under police custody. She was arrested under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru presented her before the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, ACMM court through video conference as her police custody got over on Monday.

A court on Monday extended the police custody of the Kannada film actor by five more days.

In connection to the high profile drug case, six people have been arrested including Dwivedi while the hunt is on for seven others who have been named in the twin FIRs.
