Salman Khan has extended help to an 18-year-old science student from Karnataka who reached out on social media for financial help after his father succumbed to COVID-19.

Hyderabad: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has come forward to provide aid to a young student from Karnataka who lost his father to COVID-19.

According to a webloid report, the plea for help by an 18-year-old science student from Karnataka was brought to Salman's notice by Yuva Sena leader Rahul S Kanal, who has been working closely with the superstar on the Being Haangry food trucks initiative.

Speaking to the webloid, Kanal said, "We have provided ration and educational equipment to him. We will be there for him and provide whatever is needed for his betterment. Salman’s family of fans is enabling us to help others. Salman told us to go out and be there for every human in need. He is aware of every fan club devoted to him. He is also aware of every request that comes his way, and the ones that we are providing aid to."

Meanwhile, inspired by the kind gestures of his parents, Salman started an initiative to provide food packets to the COVID-19 frontline workers through their Chinese restaurant Bhaijaanz Kitchen. Executed by Rahul, the initiative is currently targeting to provide the meal packets to at least 5,000 frontline workers, including police personnel, health workers and also people living in containment zones. The food made at Bhaijaanz Kitchen is later supplied through Being Haangry vans across Mumbai.

On the film front, Salman is gearing up for the release of his most-awaited film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai this Eid. The movie will release in over 40 countries, including a theatrical release in major overseas markets on May 13, on the occasion of Eid. The film will be available on ZEE5 with ZEE's pay-per-view service ZEEPlex on the Zee5 OTT platform and all leading DTH operators.
