Salman, Javed, Ajrun cast votes in Maharashtra polls

A host of Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Javed Akhtar, Arjun Kapoor and others have stepped out to cast their vote today in Mumbai.

Mumbai: As the assembly polls in Maharashtra kick-started on Monday, Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Javed Akhtar, Arjun Kapoor among other cast their votes as responsible citizens.

As a part of his civic rights, the Bharat actor went up to cast his vote at a polling booth in West Bandra, Mumbai. Sharing a picture of himself after casting his vote, he wrote alongside the photo: "Aaj boss buss vote karo... #VoteKarMaharashtra."

India's Most Wanted Actor Arjun Kapoor took to social media to post his inked finger selfie. Sharing the same on Twitter, he wrote alongside the photo: "Don't be a fool, be cool & get your finger marked...Each vote counts..."

Flaunting his inked finger, Abhishek Bachchan too shared a picture in a similar style. He tweeted: "Just do it!!! #GoVote #AssemblyElections2019."

Veteran actor Javed Akhtar along with wife Shaban Azmi also stepped out to participate in the biggest celebration of democracy. Interacting with the media, he said: "We have been levied with the responsibility of voting and trust me in entire Asia you see there are very few countries that are fortunate enough to vote."

Posting a selfie, the Golmaal actor Tusshar Kapoor also wrote on Twitter: "Don't forget to vote,....make it YOUR Choice! YOUR decision!"

Yesteryear actor Ranjeet and the Chitthi Aayee Hai singer Pankaj Udhas among other Bollywood celebrities have exercised their right to elect the deserving candidate.

Urging fans to exercise their right to vote, singer Pankaj said: "It's important for the country to get developed and to do so only the right kind of government should be in power. We should be proud of ourselves that we as citizens have the responsibility to bring that government in power."

Early in the day, Bollywood's Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, wife Gauri Khan, Deepika Padukone, Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao among other shave cast their votes in different polling booths across Mumbai.

Elections began in 288 Assembly constituencies of Maharashtra at 7 am today and will continue till 6 pm. The counting of votes will be held on October 24.
