Saaho box office: Prabhas starrer on unstoppable spree

Prabhas starrer Saaho has opened to a rave response at the box office despite dull reviews from the critics. The action thriller has raked in huge numbers in Hindi in its opening weekend.

Mumbai: Saaho which has emerged as one of the biggest openers of 2019 minting Rs 24.40 on its opening had a phenomenal weekend raking in Rs 79.08 crores in Hindi within three days of its release.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter announcing the numbers till Sunday.

He wrote, "#Saaho sets the BO on 🔥🔥🔥... Shows big gains on Day 3... Packs a phenomenal total in its opening weekend... North and East India are exceptional, other circuits fantastic too... Fri 24.40 cr, Sat 25.20 cr, Sun 29.48 cr. Total: ₹ 79.08 cr Nett BOC. India biz. #Hindi version."

Taran also compared Saaho box office collection to Prabhas starrer blockbuster series Baahubali.

Saaho which failed to impress the critics is continuing its winning streak at the box office as the audience are liking the daredevil action sequences in the mega-budgeted film.

The cinegoers are also liking the fresh pairing of Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor who already gave a glimpse of their crackling chemistry in the film's trailer and songs.

Besides box office, Saaho is making headlines as Lisa Ray has accused the makers of plagiarism.

The actress took to Instagram on Friday to write a post, where she has alleged how the makers of Saaho have copied an artwork of contemporary artist Shilo Shiv Suleman and used it in one of their posters.

However, the makers of Saaho are yet to react to Lisa's claim.

Saaho, made on a huge budget over 300 crores surpassed the buzz much before its release. From over the top action sequences to larger than life VFX, the mega-actioner has been enticed fans making them counting days for its release.

The film which is touted as India's biggest action-thriller hit the big screens in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on August 30.
