Purnia: The residents of Purinia paid a one-of-a-kind tribute to the son of the soil by relabelling multiple streets in the name of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The Mayor of Purnia Municipal Corporation (PMC) inaugurated the streets after it had been renamed.
The proposal was unanimously passed by the members of the standing committee of the corporation under the chairmanship of Mayor Savita Devi on Friday.
"We know it’s a time-consuming process to change the name of a place or a road. But we have to start the process and so we did it," she said.
The standing committee of the Municipal Corporation has also labelled the road from Dollar House Chowk to Mata Chowk and Ford Company Chowk in the name of the late actor.

Santosh Yadav, a local resident, told: "After all, Sushant was 'Purnea ka lal' (son of the soil). His name will always remain attached with this place. It will be a real tribute to the actor from the residents of Purnea if the chowk is named after him."
On June 14, Sushant was found hanging in his Bandra residence by his domestic help, which left the industry and his fans shocked. He was reportedly battling depression over the past few months and undergoing treatment.
