Rhea Chakraborty arrested by NCB, taken for medical examination

NCB arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty in connection with drugs angle in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She is being taken for medical examination after the arrest.

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty is arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau officials on Tuesday after three days of interrogation in connection with drugs angle in the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

She has been charged under various sections of the NDPS Act for her alleged role in the drugs angle which has emerged in the investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rhea is taken for a medical test and is likely to be produced before a magistrate through video-conferencing for remand in the evening.

The 28-year-old actor, who has already been questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Enforcement Directorate, made her first visit to the NCB on Sunday, a day after her brother Showik Chakraborty was arrested and sent to custody till September 9.

Besides Rhea and Showik, Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda, a domestic help Dipesh Sawant, two drug peddlers Abdel Basit Parihar and Zaid Vilatra are also in NCB custody.

The apex drug controlling agency is also likely to summon 25 Bollywood stars named by Rhea, Samuel Miranda and Dipesh.

Claiming innocence of his client, Maneshinde said in an earlier statement that Rhea has not approached any court to seek anticipatory bail in all the cases foisted by Bihar Police, now with the CBI, ED and NCB.
