Mumbai: The release date of the upcoming flick which will feature Rani Mukerji as a fearless and committed Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy, was announced by Yash Raj Films on Saturday.
'Mardaani 2' will hit the theatres on December 13. The film, which is a sequel to the 2014's 'Mardaani', marks the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, who wrote the the first movie in the franchise.
Produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films, 'Mardaani 2' was shot extensively in Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan.

Talking about the reception that 'Mardaani' got, Rani had earlier said: "Across the globe, people have given it a standing ovation. I think it has hit the right chord with everyone irrespective of the gender. The fact that we have tried to raise an awareness has been conquered. 'Mardaani' is and will always be extremely close to my heart."
'Mardaani 2' will be Rani's next after 2018's 'Hichki'.
