Ram Charan's wife to PM Modi: South film industry is neglected

Mumbai: After B-town celebs met PM Narendra Modi on October 19, being a part of the #ChangeWithin initiative, Ram Charan's wife Upasana Kamineni felt that there was no representation from the South. She wrote to PM Modi stating that South film industry is being completely neglected.

She wrote a tweet to PM Modi which reads, "Dearest @narendramodi ji. We in the South of INDIA admire you & are Proud to have you as our Prime Minister. With all due respect, we felt that the representation of Leading personalities & cultural icons was limited only to Hindi Artists and The South Film Industry was neglected. I express my feelings with pain & hope it’s taken in the right spirit. Jai Hind (sic)"

According to sources, Telegu producer Dil Raju was the only one who represented the entire Tollywood.

The focus was on inviting the film industry to create films and television shows that popularise Mahatma Gandhi and Gandhism, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

Spotted at the occasion were several eminent stars and filmmakers, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez, Imtiaz Ali, Ekta Kapoor, Anurag Basu and Boney Kapoor.

From Shah Rukh, Aamir to Kangana, all thanked and congratulated PM Modi for the "wonderful interaction" he had with the celebrities from the creative and entertainment industry on Saturday.
