Rajinikanth, Arjun, Prasoon endorse PM's lockdown extension

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a lockdown extension till May 3, several celebrities including Rajinikanth, Hema Malini, Prasoon Joshi and Arjun Kapoor have supported PM Narendra Modi's decision for lockdown extension.

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended the lockdown till May 3 as a preventive measure, owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Following the announcement, a host of celebrities from the entertainment industry took to their social media handles to express their views regarding the same.

Superstar Rajinikanth asked fans to follow the government's guidelines in order to fight coronavirus.

Dreamgirl Hema Malini also requested her fans to observe lockdown for the next three weeks. She tweeted: "We have completed 3 weeks of nationwide lockdown successfully & controlled the spread of the virus to a large extent. Let us follow our PM @narendramodi ji’s behest to the nation to observe next 3 weeks also in strict lockdown. For our own welfare & benefit, we shouldn't break rules."

Screenwriter and CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi welcomed the lockdown extension by PM Narendra Modi. He tweeted: "#ModiMangalMessage Time to Stay firm&united. India under the leadership of PM @narendramodi has set an example of decisivess, self belief and welfare in the face of the Coronavirus crisis. Let’s keep staying responsible for sake of all and not get distracted by any negativity."

Actor Arjun Kapoor posted his picture on Instagram and wrote: "Me trying to Smoulder while we wait for May..."

Actor and producer Neil Nitin Mukesh hopped on to Instagram and wrote: "My reaction to the extension till 3rd May. All Future Plans. Ready?"
