Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra who took the stage at the Beautycon Festival Los Angeles 2019 urged women to empower each other. The actress addressed a variety of topics from sisterhood to not seeking validation from others to not be afraid of failure and to take risks.
She said that due to lack of opportunities for women they are pitted against one another. Spreading the message of sisterhood, she said that we should create opportunities for one and all.
The 'Mary Kom' actor said that the problem stems out from the lack of opportunities, further adding that "the more opportunity we create for each other, the more sisterhood will grow."
Speaking more about it, the actress said: "I feel like, over time, because women had the lack of opportunities, we were pitted against each other. Because there were only five places a woman could be hired and so we were elbowing each other out to get to that one spot."
The 'Isn't It Romantic' star revealed that women all over the world are pitted against each other.
Sharing one of her experiences, she said: "I've had so many times where I'm doing interviews and people always ask me, 'You're doing a movie with a female actor. Did you guys get along? Were there cat fights?' But when it comes to boys, they say, 'Oh, my gosh. That's a bromance, and everyone works so well'."
