Mumbai: Ma Anand Sheela who was the one-time personal assistance of the controversial Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh recently declared that she disapproves of Priyanka Chopra playing her part in her biopic.

Earlier in January, the global icon Priyanka had announced that she will be making a film on the polarising personality Ma Anand Sheela in collaboration with director Barry Levinson.

It was also decided that the Quantico star will be essaying the role of Anand Sheela in the movie, bankrolled by none other than Priyanka Chopra.

However, the lady who ignited several controversies around herself announced that she would prefer Alia Bhatt over the Baywatch star Priyanka to portray her character in the movie.

In a recent interview with one of the leading media outlets, Sheela said: "I saw bits of a film that my sister was watching, and I thought, I looked like her when I was young. I asked my sister, ‘Did I look like her when I was young? Do you remember’? And she said, ‘Yes, you do’."

She further added: "I feel she has the spunk in her that I had. Spunk is very necessary and it is very natural, it is not artificial, not cosmetic, it is genuine."

Asked about the legal notice she sent to Priyanka, Sheela said: "I told her I do not give her permission to do the film because I have not chosen her..."

"In Switzerland, we send legal notices very simply. I sent her an email which is accepted there as legal," she added.

When asked if Priyanka responded to the legal notice, she said: "No, never. Not even a courtesy letter that they received my notice but that’s not an issue, maybe she never had the opportunity to meet me or make time to meet me and it is no big issue... not everybody has the time to meet me."

The biopic on Sheela piqued interest among the audience after the documentary titled Wild Wild Country garnered attention worldwide.
