Mumbai: Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, who is popularly known as Circuit, his character name from Munna Bhai, has recently been criticised for sharing racist memes on curbing the spread of Coronavirus.
The 51-year-old actor on Friday took to Twitter to share the meme which read: "Steps to follow to stop Corona Virus from spreading," which was followed by a collage of photos made out from his movie stills.
Sharing the same, he wrote: "My friend just sent me this very valuable info..."
The tweet, however, did not go down well with a major section of the netizens. It has also received several backlashes from the audience at large. While some called it "racist" others labelled it "insensitive."
In response to the tweet, one social media user wrote: "Delete immediately. We can’t be racist and support attacks on Chinese nationals. Most of the northeasterners will be targeted because of this stupid meme."

Another wrote: "This is racist actually! Everywhere around people are putting notices to not let the Chinese in which is very absurd."
For the unversed, Coronavirus has claimed the lives of over 213 people on China and more than 9600 cases has reportedly been confirmed attributing to the deadly virus infection.
In other news, Arshad was last seen on big screens in Pagalpanti. The film also featured Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Ileana D'Cruz, Urvashi Rautela, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda and Saurabh Shukla in lead roles.
