Mumbai: Veteran actress Nafisa Ali put her heart out after actress Zaira Wasim has made her decision public to opt out of Bollywood. On the sidelines, the actress has also said that work is one's freedom and one's independent right.

Posting a really old picture the 'Junoon' actress prayed for an elegant role to portray in Indian cinema. After Neena Gupta asked for work on social media, the actress took to social media to ask for work at her age.

Reminiscing the moments from past, the actress put out a picture of her younger self on social media and expressed that she is ready to return to films.

She wrote: "I am Nafisa Ali Sodhi and I would like an elegant role to portray in Indian cinema. So looking for a perfect script as a senior actor, I need to work to express my emotions. I will not be dictated to. May God give each of us the strength to follow our dreams."

Posting a heartfelt note, she wrote on Instagram: "This is the new me... older, grey and feeling positive. I saw myself when I was 20 and I just felt for young actor Zaira Wasim. I thought let me put this message out that work is something which is your choice, it is your freedom, your independent right."

She further added: "There are many pressures young people are surrounded by... but if you have a choice, make you sure you think and make the right choice. Because I always look back and say why did I give in, why did I listen to my father, I should have listened to myself."

Nafisa Ali has always been a symbol of strength. She was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer in 2018, but she was not ready to bow down.

Nafisa who made her debut in Shashi Kapoor's 'Junoon' in 1979 has worked in numerous Bollywood films including 'Yamla Pagla Deewana', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Major Saab'. She was last seen on the big screen in 'Sahib, Biwi Aur Gangster 3'.
