Filmmaker Om Raut has kickstarted motion capture for Prabhas starrer Adipurush on Tuesday. Om took to social media to share a picture with the team as he begins Adipurush journey.

Hyderabad: Director Om Raut has begun the Adipurush journey with motion capture. The director of Prabhas' highly anticipated movie has shared the update on social media.

The chatter about Baahubali fame Prabhas' upcoming pan-India film Adipurush has been growing ever since it was announced last year. The film helmed by Om Raut is based on Ramayan and will be celebrating the victory of good over evil. While casting of Prabhas as Lord Ram and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh is announced, makers are yet to reveal who will be playing Sita in the film. But before that, the team has taken Adipurush on floors on Tuesday. director Om Raut has shared a picture of himself with his team members on social media.

"Motion capture begins. Creating the world of #Adipurush," wrote Om alongside the image. Adipurush is billed as a visual spectacle with excessive VFX involved for which Raut will be bringing in a technique that has never been used in films before.

While names like Deepika Padukone, Kriti Sanon and Keerthy Suresh were reported to be the top contenders for the role of Sita, the makers are yet to confirm whom they have locked to play the part.

In November last year, the makers had announced that Adipurush will have a theatrical release on August 11, 2022. With Independence Day 2022 falling on a Monday in 2022, the Om Raut directorial will get a five-day extended opening weekend at the box office. Adipurish film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar and Rajesh Nair.
